Matcha balls with hemp seeds

matcha-hempa balls
  • one cup tsampa
  • half cup hulled hemp seeds
  • pinch of salt and cardamom
  • 4 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 2 to 4 tbsp. date syrup or any sweetener
  • 2 to 3 tsp. matcha tea (powdered Japanese tea)
  • water or milk (dairy, rice, soya…)
Reserve a quarter of the hemp seeds. Thoroughly combine all the ingredients, except the water, by hand or mixer. Add the water, mix, and form small or larger balls. Roll each ball in the reserved hemp seed.
Matcha is green Japanese / Korean tea. This tea retains all the important substances typically found in green teas; vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and fibre.
